THE PADDING MAKES THE SHORT

A little-known fact. Most mid to high-end shorts use the exact same padding. That’s because there is one company that manufactures a very good range of material and sells it to many brands who incorporate it into their shorts.  What’s wrong with this? Absolutely nothing! These pads are very good quality indeed and enhance the products that they sit in.

When these companies talk about how good their padding is – they may be right, but in reality, it’s exactly the same as their competitors. To be clear, a €200 pair of shorts may have the same padding as a €100 pair. When buying in volume it isn’t particularly expensive to buy “top of the line” padding.

Our shorts use proprietary padding. It is developed in-house by us. It's based on ideas and technologies we have researched, tried and tested. We specialize in biomechanics, millimeter perfect fit and adjustments. This is why the majority of pro-tour riders trust our padding. It's why certain padding manufacturers study us to see what they wish to come up with next. But rest assured, we are always one step ahead.

SMOOTH VAPOR UNI

 

The Vapor pad is part of our newest generation of pads, and it’s a big step forward in terms of breathability and damping. Main research question during development was: how can we improve the damping needed to cope with the stiffness of carbon bikes without adding more material to the pad? The result: Vapor Technology.
 
The pad materials consist of a friction reducing, breathable top layer. 2 middle layers provide breathability and moisture transport. The main layer is where the magic happens.  We use Evapore, which is a 3D webbing with better damping qualities. When put under stress, Evapore changes into a rubberized state, so even when it’s compressed to the maximum, it still provides damping. Moreover, this material is hydrophobic, meaning it transports perspiration. The pad remains dry at all times. 
 
The benefits are obvious.

  • Lower center of gravity on the saddle, more control of your bike.
  • Stability on the saddle is improved. 
  • Better power transfer, less bulk. 
  • More support with only 30% of the material.

    AEROFIT

    Bioracer has developed sports wear with an aerodynamic cut for fast races on flat roads and time trials. This Aerofit cut is used for all our Race Proven sports wear and time trial suits.

    ATHLETIC FIT

    Clothing with an athletic fit has a tight, competition oriented cut.

    COMFORT FIT

    The comfort fit cut is designed to offer maximum comfort to cyclists who mainly sit up, such as mountain bikers and recreational cyclists.

    4 WAY STRETCH

    A textile's elasticity is one of the main determinants of the freedom of movement, fit and comfort of a garment. 4 way stretch textiles are often used for bib shorts, have the same elasticity in all directions and therefore ensure perfect support.

    BREATHABLE

    The body heat produced during exercise must be dissipated even in cooler circumstances. Breathable fabrics dissipate surplus heat but do not let cold air or moisture in.

    2 WAY BREATHABLE

    One of the characteristics of functional sports wear is ventilation and the dissipation of heat. Sports wear for summer is made from textiles which let cool air enter while they dissipate hot air.

    HIGH VISIBILITY

    These garments are available in a fluorescing colour, giving additional visibility in the dark.

    NIGHT

    It can be dangerous to ride in the dark. In order to increase the safety of cyclists Bioracer has added reflective logo's and strips.

    UV PROTECTION

    Fibres which protect against dangerous UV-rays are used in these textiles.

    FAST DRYING

    The body must be cooled under summery conditions. Our Fast Drying range has been developed with the use of materials which cool the body faster by allowing quicker evaporation of moisture.

    ULTRALIGHT

    The use of lightweight textiles makes these items ultralight and also gives a comfortable feel.

    MAN

    The cut of this garment is specifically designed for men.

    WOMAN

    This garment has a cut adapted to the female form.

    RAIN

    Waterproof gear, designed to be worn during rain and showers.

    WATER REPELLENT

    A water repelling layer has been applied to the textiles used, or they have been impregnated with a water repellent emulsion.

    DRIZZLE

    Bioracer sports wear especially designed for riding in "Belgian" weather with protection against light rain. These garments offer a lighter protection than heavy duty water proofs and is breathable.

    WATERPROOF

    This garment has been made with a completely waterproof type of textile.

    WINDPROOF

    A wind proof layer has been incorporated into this garment. Perfect for quick descents.

    WARM WEATHER

    These garments are at their best when temperatures rise. The materials are lighter, dissipate heat quicker and let perspiration dissipate fast. Suitable for temperatures from 20°C.

    TEMP CONTROL

    On cool or even cold days it is important to retain body heat. The fabrics used in the manufacture of this garments ensure good isolation, and the use of polyamide yarns gives optimum regulation of moisture.

    COLD WEATHER

    This sports wear is designed to be used in temperatures below 5°C.

    SUMMER CLOTHING

    In order to keep the body cool it is important to wear clothing which quickly lets perspiration evaporate under warm conditions

    WINTER CLOTHING

    It is highly recommended to wear suitable cycling clothes, which keep body heat in and protect against the chill, under cold weather conditions.
